Band director Victor Villaorduna was nominated by South Broward High School for the Tom Bishop award.

This award recognizes an FBA member who has gone into a school and turned the band program around, making a huge positive difference in a relatively short period of time as the director.

“Throughout my years of being a band director I’ve gotten to build many relationships with my students while also having fun along the way,”

”I’m very grateful to South Broward High School for giving me that opportunity, ” said Mr. Villaorduna.

Mr. Villaorduna has been working at South Broward  with the ongoing goal to build and improve the band over the course of four years.

He has also led other bands to great accomplishments, such as a World Championship in WGI Winds, FMBC Finalist and State Concert Band evaluation. He is a former Bulldog and has helped the band grow ever since his graduation in 2012.

Mr. Villaorduna also brings knowledge from participating in Drum Corps International in the Summer of 2014 with the Blue Knights, a world class competitive junior drum and bugle corps, based in Denver, Colorado.
