SBHS Soccer

Last year, SBHS boys varsity soccer took the District title for the second time. This year, the players are gearing up to go for a “threepeat”, or a third District title.

“Winning another District title will feel amazing especially if we beat Saint Thomas three years in a row” said Anthony Mejia.

The team from last year lacked discipline and it did not help them go very far. Now the Seniors with lots of experience are playing every game like its their last. With the addition of a new coach the players are receiving one of the best training sessions all over Broward County.

The captain Damian Fernandez has high expectations, he wants to go undefeated just like the 2015-2016 season and wants to add another title to end his senior year. “Since freshman year to now, I learned that hard work and dedication is the key to success,” said Damian.

Also a Senior and co captain, Nick Fraggetti came from Saint Thomas High-school, after the 2015-2016 school year to make history with the Bulldogs. He won his first District title in the 2016-2017 season against his old school and the feeling was great. “I expected to come in and help the already talented program become one of the best teams in the state.” said Nick

With the 2017-2018 soccer season just around the corner all the players that made the team this year have big shoes to fill from the past teams that the school had before them. The difference from them and other teams, is that they have way bigger plans and plan to go further into the season.
