Are you trying to make a difference this holiday?. Well, South Broward’s Interact students are making a difference for families in the community who deserve to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving meal with their family, without the constant worry of how they will afford it. Many other clubs such as Key Club, Spanish Honor Society, Science Honor Society, MTL, and Math honor society are all prepared and ready to make a difference and help 130 adopted families this holiday.

The harvest drive has helped many families and even students out in the past for providing them with food and supplies that will make there thanksgiving holiday more special for them and less stressful, so they can enjoy a nice sit-down Thanksgiving meal with there entire family. The harvest drive also provides service hours for students, so many come out each year to collect food donations around school from other students and even teachers, and give up their own time to help package food and hand it out to families on the last day. Kassandra Martinez a sophomore at South Broward and a member of Interact said “This is a great way to help and give to those who really need it. Not many people can afford to celebrate the holidays but we are all glad we can help and make a difference this holiday”.

During distribution day which is the last day of the harvest drive, South Broward students who were involved got the chance to meet Pikachu!, as well as the kids who were alongside their parents picking up their package from the harvest drive. To top off the night volunteers got awarded with pizza by the staff for being involved and working hard for those who are less fortunate this Thanksgiving.
