As the sun set on Friday night, the South Broward football team took to the field ready to get their first victory of the year no matter what. The bulldogs accomplished this despite the bad weather and won their first game of the season, destroying Piper High School 34-21.

They got off to a rough start against Doral Academy, but the bulldogs proved they’re not to be underestimated. The game was a major upset, no one expecting the undefeated bengal tigers to lose. Hopes weren’t high, but a touchdown by a bulldog in one of the first plays set the tone for the rest of the game.

The bulldog defensive line were on their A-game, forcing a fumble from the bengals in the first quarter. Continuous plays like that allowed South Broward to pull ahead 13-0 by halftime.

The fourth quarter was a close call for the bulldogs, when the bengals almost completely closed a 27-0 lead. However, the bulldogs did not concede, scoring the final touchdown of the night and securing a victory for South Broward.
