Ashley Vargas is a sophomore at South Broward High School who loves to play volleyball, listen to music, sing, and dance (even though she might not be the best at it). 

 “I’ve been singing since I was tiny, like 6-years-old,” said Vargas.  

Small in stature, but big in heart, she has always been into various kinds of sports such as soccer, gymnastics, boxing, track, and volleyball. 

 “It’s like an outlet for me when it comes to stress and anger,” said Vargas. 

 She found online schools to be less interesting than sitting in a physical classroom. 

 “Online school felt like it was more of a choice rather than a requirement” said Vargas.  

 Her mom is from Argentina and her dad is from Uruguay, but she was born here and first language is Spanish, which she loves to speak.  

“I feel like I can express my emotions better,” she said.
