Bill Suarez is a 16-year-old sophomore at South Broward High School. Suarez doesn’t have any deep interest in journalism but doesn’t mind it. Suarez was born in Cuba and moved to Miami, Florida, at the age of six.
“I never thought about doing journalism, but I’m also not against trying new things,” said Suarez. “My mom told me that she wanted us to move to Florida to have better and new opportunities and to have a better life.”
Growing up in Miami, he was very social and would become friends with everyone easily.
“I was never embarrassed or shy to talk to people; I loved the idea of knowing everyone,” said Suarez.
When Suarez was in middle school, he would play a variety of sports, such as soccer, football, basketball, baseball, and volleyball. Some of his favorite hobbies are being at the beach, hanging out with his friends, and staying at home in bed.
“I didn’t really like sports either, but I decided to do as many as I could to see which one fit my interests and which one I was good at,” he said.
One of Suarez’s favorite things is music. Growing up, there was always music playing at home. Music became a big part of his life.
“I love music. Music is one of those things that is a part of my everyday life; my day can get very boring without music,” said Suarez.
A quote Suarez lives by is “Your self-worth is determined by you. You don’t have to depend on someone telling you who you are,” Beyonce.
