Daniel Marrero is a sophomore at South Broward High School. He also goes by the nickname ‘DJ’. He has a lot of interests in sports and food. He grew up in a small part of Paterson, New Jersey. He would later move down to Florida during July of 2018. All of this moving affected him greatly, he felt like he lost a part of his childhood. It felt like the next step into growing up, it was really hard for him.
What came easy to him was having support in his life, people he knew that cared about him as much as he cared for them.
“I always have been the ‘people pleaser’ in this world. I’d rather do everything that I can for even the people that don’t really know me, than have to just sit in silence for the rest of my life.” said Marrero.
He is also the oldest out of 5 kids in his family.
“Handling 4 siblings, especially when 3 of them are boys, is just the sum of being the role model of the entire future. It’s tiring though” Marrero states in a jokingly manner.
When asked where he sees himself in a few years. He explains how he doesn’t know what the future has for him, but expresses how he doesn’t want to seem impatient. With hard work and dedication, he’s determined to have a peaceful future.
