Fredrick Ortiz is a student at South Broward High School. He’s interested in taking journalism for the new skills and experiences. He is both Puerto Rican and Mexican.
Ortiz grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and then later moved to Florida. Some people have nicknamed him, “Fredy Prinze.” His favorite rapper is Coo Coo Cal and his favorite song is “My Projects,” which is from the same artist.
He doesn’t like being alone or on edge.
“It brings a lot of anxiety and stress,” says Ortiz.
Taking pictures and writing come easy to him, and he loves playing basketball on the weekends. Bloody Knuckles was his favorite game when he was younger and even up til now.
He describes his most embarrassing moment like this: “Last year at lunch my little group of friends were playing around a lot and I laughed so hard that milk was spilling out my nose,” said Ortiz.
A motto he lives by is: “Sticks and stones may break my bones but who cares what you think about me cause you aren’t me and you’ve never been through what I’ve been through.”
His role model is his mom. She’s a very strong hearted person and that’s why he looks up to her the most.
