Genaris Borrego, aka Genny, is a junior at SBHS who moved to Hollywood 10-years-ago.

As a child, her favorite game was crossword puzzles. Borrego believed that doing crossword puzzles not only improved her vocabulary, but increased her knowledge of many different topics. “There was satisfaction that came with finding the correct word, placing it downwards, upwards, or across,” she said.

She considers herself a very laid back person who enjoys watching romance and drama shows. Her favorite romantic movie is “The Notebook,” a love story starring Ryan Goosline and Rachel Mcadams. “It gives an example of how people should fight for love these days,” said Borrego.  A true romantic, she lives by the motto, “No measure of time is enough, so let’s start with forever.”

Although she has heard people call her “stuck up, slow, and rude,” she has never changed who she is. Dark humor never fails to make her laugh and keeps a smile on her face. She's an impressive painter, just give her a paintbrush and her inner Picasso comes out.

Along with soaking up the sun and living it up at the beach, Borrego relishes her relationships with friends, family, and her boyfriend. She believes time itself is precious and life is short, so forgive in order to heal and live your life to the fullest.

“What comes easiest to me is forgiving people,” she said.
