Johnny Harmon is a 17 year old senior at SBHS, doing his best to graduate. He was born in Texas and moved to Florida in the middle of his elementary years. This is his first year in Journalism and The Bulldog Bark. However, he has always been fascinated about the class, specifically the photography and graphic design aspect of it. He mentions that he may not be the best at writing, but will do his best to present stories in an accurate and interesting light.

Ever since Harmon was young, he has been interested in photography. As a child he would always snatch the camera from his parents sneaking pictures while being chased. There would be times where he would sneak his parents small digital camera into school whenever he could to take pictures.

“He would always manage to fill the camera chip in a few minutes,” said his father.

The interest that he had previously in his early life “became muted,” he says, when he moved to Florida. He flew away from all the people he knew, and lost interest in capturing the moments in front of him. However, through the temporary loss of interest in photography, he gained interest in reading stories and watching documentaries.

“Hearing people’s stories, and seeing how they shape the person is interesting," said Harmon.

Harmon is thinking about pursuing the job of a forensic investigator in the future. He expresses that journalism will definitely help with viewing things in different and wider perspectives. He also wants to re-spark his interest in photography through his stories.
