Kai Escobar is a 17 -year-old senior at South Broward High School whose passions are wrestling and writing. He signed up for journalism due to his interest in covering sports and believes this class will help him improve his interviewing skills. Escobar recently obtained a perfect score on his EOC History AICE exam. What a champ! “The test was challenging and I was surprised to get a perfect score,” said Escobar. Besides his involvement with sports and writing, he spends most of his free time hanging out with his friends, working out or listening to rap music .
When Kai was younger, he begged to quit piano so he could join the wrestling team instead. “I didn’t go straight from piano to wrestling. First I did MMA for a year,” he said. “But, I sucked at MMA, so I joined the wrestling team.” When I asked him about his future, Kai stated he wants to have a successful career, but he fears he would end up with an office job. On a typical day, you would see Kai with his light hoodie, pants and his plain-old converse. “I’m pretty chill and quiet, that’s why you always see me with earphones.”
Most of his life, Kai has looked up to his father. Even though he doesn’t want to be like him, he still considers him a important figure in his life.
