Kevin Olortegui is a 16-year-old junior at South Broward High School, born in Hollywood, Florida. His hobby’s since eight grade was playing sports and taking photos. He had never really liked taking photos since his parents always told him to, but overtime he started to get better at photography and soon grew to love it ever since.

“Overtime it has been fun to take photos and everywhere I go I see so many good opportunities to take pictures.” said Olortegui.

He had one year of experience of yearbook and wanted to do more. He joined journalism to expand his photography and had an opportunity to become a photographer for journalism.

“I can’t wait for this new opportunity and expand my creativity,” he said.

He also does other hobby’s like playing video games, marching band, and working with technology. He wants to become an engineer and work with technology since he grew up with electronics around him.

“I want to do things I love and both engineering and photography fall into the same category,” said Olortegui.
