Kohani Badejogbin, 17, is a senior at South Broward High School, going into his third year of yearbook and first year of journalism as he eagerly enters his final year of high school. He hopes to win an award in journalism this year to add to his academic resume.
“I’m honestly glad everything is coming to an end,” said Badejogbin. “But perhaps winning the best of snow awards would be nice.”
Although he is ready to graduate, Badejogbin plans to make the most out of his last year by covering all of the school events and improving his journalism and photography skills, which he intends to pursue in college as a major in multimedia journalism.
“People are unique. I want other people to know that. This is my code that motivates me to document the unique plethora of stories and experiences people have to offer,” he said.
Outside of school, Badejogbin works as a part-time busser at Billy’s Stone Crab on Hollywood Beach, a job he’s had since the beginning of his junior year and plans to continue throughout senior year. There, he’s responsible for delivering food to tables on time.
After graduation, Badejogbin plans to attend Florida State University, a school relatively far from home, where he hopes to live in the dorms and major in computer engineering.
“I’ve always wanted to go to FSU. I love the crazy atmosphere and school spirit. The campus is gorgeous, and the programs are pretty good as well,” said Badejogbin.
