Luis Adrian Pereira Garrido, 14, is a freshman at SBHS. Garrido was born and raised in Tikisate, Guatemala and moved to Florida five years ago. As a young child, he moved around a lot. Five times in Guatemala and three times in the U.S.

To keep himself entertained, Garrido had a transformer toy that he loved to play with.

"It had many moves and combinations you could put together," said Garrido.

As a native Guatemalan, his favorite food is Pepian, a combination of meat and vegetables in a thick, spicy sauce. Moving to the U.S. affected him a lot.

"Leaving my family behind was really hard," said Garrido.

Garrido has a baby brother who cries all the time which he finds very annoying.

However, he was able to have new experiences and opportunities like traveling to Los Angeles and picking up activities such as karate, boxing, basketball, soccer, video games, drawing, and going to the gym. Over the weekend, he loves to do these things with his friends.

Garrido also discovered his favorite type of clothing style which would come to be streetwear. 

One thing Garrido hates is people who are hypocrites.

“They just lie way too much," he said.
