Melan Jacobs, 16, is a senior at South Broward High School, who enjoys things like traveling and photography, but her passion for wanting to become a forensic psychologist exceeds her love for anything else. She first discovered her love for forensic psychology watching true crime shows and ID channels with her mother. Jacobs’ love for true crime has strengthened their bond.
“I listen to true crime podcasts when I go to sleep and it really interests me,” said Jacobs, “So I want to be able to see inside the minds of the criminals.”
She has plans on double majoring in psychology and criminology at the University of Tampa. To help out with that, Jacobs has applied for the Jackie Robinson scholarship, which is for underprivileged youth to pay for studies after high school.
After graduating college she hopes to get a job in the field of her studies, either where she grew up in Hollywood, Florida, or in Tampa.
