Niah Reid
Niah Reid,17, is a senior attending South Broward High School for the first time. She enjoys roller skating at Galaxy Skateway, as well as being isolated enough to meditate. She says she’s a very calm individual, who hardly speaks unless spoken to.
She lives with her mom and younger brother, who also transferred to South Broward as a freshman.
“So far school isn’t that bad, although I know a couple of people, I still rather not be in a crowded group of individuals,” she said.
Despite being a good conversationalist; she prefers being quiet.
Reid collects sneakers, particularly Jordan 1’s and Nike Airmaxes. She enjoys creating stunning outfits by piecing unique clothing together. For example, an oversized tee with light-colored washed jeans and a plaid flannel to top it off. She dislikes dresses and skirts, but she’ll still do her nails and hair.
“People tend to be afraid of being themselves in order to fit the standards of society, and I refuse to be one of those people,” said Reid
She enjoys throwing a football and playing outside in the rain. She hopes to enjoy her senior year at South Broward and make a couple of genuine friends.
“The energy you accord out into the world is the energy you receive in return,” said Reid. “Be mindful of others and the universe will rule in your favor.”
