Rachel Paz is a 15-year-old sophomore, who joined this class because thought it sounded interesting, and she likes journalism. She grew up in Hollywood and she likes living here because she has many close friends.
Some of her favorite things are Dominican food, the movie “Home Alone” and her hobbies are crocheting and hanging out with friends and family. Her family likes traveling and she has traveled to Mexico, Dominican Republic, Panama, Bolivia, Belize, Cuba with them.
Paz says that long school days stress her out, but the most stressful things are homework and the amount of hours in a day. Something that people wouldn’t guess about her is that she really enjoys being alone.
Her favorite toy as a kid was Bop it. “I like playing it with my siblings, it makes us closer.” Her parents’ dedication to hard work inspires her. She also likes that they taught her to be independent.
Silliness is something Paz and her friends have in common. She once slammed into a sliding glass door at the mall and her friend went ice skating in socks. A teacher once told her the quote “dance like nobody’s watching”. To this day it’s her inspiration.
