Samantha is a 16-yar old junior at South Broward High who joined this class because it sounded interesting and was one of the few available electives. Born and raised in Miami, she is of Cuban and Puerto Rican descent and is a new, and proud, member of the high school's Spanish Honor Society and HOSO. She is the middle child of five siblings, a tight fist group that consistence of an older brother, two older sisters, and a little sister.
After school, she would like to combine her passions for traveling the medical field by studying dermatology. Her desire to become a dermatologist was born from her struggles with dealing with acne at a young age. In ten years, she sees herself in a stable career in the medical field.
“I know it's going to be a long and stressful journey to complete my dream, but it's one I’m willing to take,” Roman says.
In her free time, she enjoys reading and watching movies and TV shows. Her favorites include any movie from the insidious serious and her favorite TV shows are “Greys Anatomy” and "Haunting of Hill House”
“Basically, anything horror-related,” says Roman.
On some weekends Roman likes to ride her longboard around her neighborhood and hang out with her friends. Her music taste ranges from pop to reggae and her favorite artists are Brent Faiyaz, Jorja Smith, and J Cole. Her biggest cheerleaders are her parents and best friends.
“They encourage me every day to do my best and move towards my dreams.” says Roman
