Vladislava Budeci, or Vlada for short, is a 14-year-old freshman at South Broward High School. She moved to Florida in August 2025 from Los Angeles, California. She is originally from Moldova, which is located in Eastern Europe.
“I used to move and travel a lot. I’m only 14, and I’ve already visited about four countries and six states,” Budeci said. “Moving so much can be overwhelming, but I think I’m used to it by now.”
In middle school, Budeci didn’t participate in sports or clubs, which is something she now regrets. As a result, she promised herself that she would become more involved in high school. So when she heard that South Broward had a Journalism and Yearbook class, she felt like it was the perfect way to do that and be part of something fun.
“At the end of the year, when I looked through the pages of my yearbook, I realized how much fun I had missed,” said Budeci.
When Budeci first moved to America, she only knew the basics of English. Over time, she quickly began to pick up the language and became a straight-A student. In 2025, she moved to Hollywood, Florida, and started the 2025 school year at SBHS.
“I remember when I entered the class in my new school, everyone was staring at me, which made me so uncomfortable,” she said. “I am very excited to be a member of the Bulldog Bark staff. I am looking forward to interviewing students and learning everything about journalism.” Budeci said.
