Faith Augustin, a sophomore at South Broward High School. She grew up in Miami, Florida. She never moved around until she transitioned to middle school. Since, she never moved around, she grew strong bonds with the people around her community.
At first, Augustin did not know that this was a journalism class, but she is still really excited to share her opinion on many different topics and write about them.
Since, her name is very short, she doesn’t have a nickname. But, her family does refer to her as her middle name, Leah.
Augustin’s most embarrassing moment is when she fell down the stairs at a football game.
Augustin’s favorite weekend activity is sleeping and watching television. She also spends most of her time caring for her niece and she spends her free time educating herself on different topics by reading online articles and very opinionated pieces on different problems going on in our world today.
“Reading all of these very opinionated pieces, really opened my mind on to many different perspectives on different topics and situations” said, Augstin .
Augustin has strong opinions about how students are being treated during this pandemic and also being schooled online. She said the toughest thing for her to deal with is the workload and having to sit in front of a computer screen for about 8 hours a day, every single day.
“You wanna know what scares people? Success. When you don’t make moves, you don’t climb up that ladder, and everybody loves you because you’re not competition,” a quote Augustin lives by.
