Jacob LaRoque is a senior at SBHS and ace pitcher on the SBHS’s varsity baseball team. LaRoque is a streetwear enthusiast who enjoys making frequent visits to local thrift stores in search of vintage clothing and upcycled items.
“I have bins upon bins of vintage clothing just sitting in my room,” said LaRoque.
LaRoque also turns a profit by reselling some of his collection at conventions and to some fellow enthusiasts.
“If I weren’t so lazy, I could probably make my college tuition by selling my stuff,.” said LaRoque.
Not only is LaRoque a dedicated athlete, he’s quite the scholar, taking AP courses and dual enrollment courses while simultaneously earning his Cambridge diploma.
Aspiring to be the best athlete he can be, LaRoque keeps his skills sharp by playing travel ball for Cannons Baseball Academy. He hopes to major in English while pitching for a top college on scholarship.
“I would like to take baseball as far as it’ll take me,” he said.
