Jessica Ilca is a ninth-grade student here at South Broward High School. She is hoping that her ninth grade year is easy as a breeze. What prompted her into journalism was the aspect of photography and photojournalism. Her passions and after-school activites involve drawing and photography. Her academic strengths are in reading and her weakness is in math. Ilca’s expectation from journalism is to interact with others and to write about the lives of students. A club that has intrigued her is the Best Buddies Club because students are able to help their peers in special education.
Ilca’s role models are her parents because bothof them are very hardworking. She enjoys all music, except rock and country, and she likes the message behind the music. She would like a profession in the medical field, specifically a pediatrician or an optometrist. While attending South Broward High School, Ilca has noticed that there is more independence here compared to middle school. If she could have any superpower it would be time travel, so she would be able to change any mistakes she has made in the past.
