This is Marissa Mignott, a junior attending South Broward High school.
“All of my siblings and relatives call me ‘Rissa,'” said Mignott.
Mignott grew up in Hollywood Florida for the majority of her life. She did not move around much, until she entered her freshman year of high school.
She believes that the constant moving throughout most of her high school years has made her gloomy episodes much darker since she never had time to properly adjust.
Senses Fail is her favorite band, and Gab3 is her favorite artist. They have helped her through tough times. Mignott has recently been improving her guitar playing and is very eager to start crocheting.
The hardest thing about being a student for her is the competition to be the smartest with the other students.
“I do not feel confident in my learning capabilities despite my good grades,” said Mignott. “However, I’m extremely confident in everything computer related. Computers are my sweet spot.”
Mignott’s most embarrassing moment, recently happened while in online school. She attempted to say “here” for attendance, but instead of speaking she made a gasping noise.
One word of advice Mignott would give to others is to stop feeding into society’s perception of perfect.
