Natalie Diegue is a 14- year old freshman who grew up in Miami, Florida and attends South Broward High School. She likes writing because it’s something that interests her and likes to express herself.
She’d like to become a realtor, a writer, or have a job in the medical field. She’s taking this class to get more skills in writing and also capture the moments of events that are worth telling and inform people about important news.
Diegue struggles academically in world history because she feels like she’s a visual learner, and remembering what happened in the past doesn’t stay in her mind. On the other hand, she excels in English and math.
“Math and English are the easiest since seeing how to do things and how they work is easier for me,” said Diegue.
Diegue likes all types of music genres, except country. She likes R&B the best because it sounds nice to her. Her role model is Christopher Chan, the leader of the group called Stray Kids. Diegue is inspired by Chan because he makes her become a better person and not give up.
When she’s not at school, she spends her day reading or watching her favorite movie, “Hidden Figures”. Her greatest stressors are meeting her parent’s expectations and worrying about her future. Fear of failure causes her anxiety. For her, the hardest thing about being a student is being consistent with her grades.
“I have eight classes all at once, which is a lot to do especially doing virtual school,” said Diegue.
