Student and Babysitter: A Day in the Life
November 27, 2020
I wake up every morning at 7:00 a.m. and I do my morning routine. For example, I take a shower and I brush my teeth and eat breakfast and at 8:00 a.m. my 2 year old cousin, Jonathan arrives. His parents work, so they drop him off all day. While I’m in school, I keep my eye on him to make sure he is not doing anything he is not supposed to be doing. I don’t want him to hurt himself.
Including me, there are five of us in the house who are responsible for taking care of him: me, my older brother, my older sister, my younger sister, and my mom, who is his grandmother.
Although my sister Niva helps out, my brother Joey works, so he can’t.
“It really isn’t that hard to watch him, because I really don’t be home to watch him,” he said.
After 2 to 3 hours, either me or my sister give him a bath. and wait till it’s time for him to go home.
My sisters and I take turns and we both feel differently about caring for him.
“I don’t feel like it’s that hard to watch him because he isn’t that bad in my opinion,” said my older sister Niva.
But, my younger sister Isabel doesn’t have the same patience.
“Sometimes he can be a hard head, and he can aggravate me,” she said.
“He really doesn’t bother me because I’m experienced, because I already dealt with you and your siblings,” joked Inovia.
