Having a car in high school can be important and useful in many ways. For example, students can drive to school instead of rushing to get on the bus in time or having to wake up earlier to walk to school. Several students at SBHS own a car and say it is very useful and less stressful for them.

Jeremy Suarez, a junior in our school got his license last week. One of his favorite hobbies is to drive. He likes to go out with his friends. He shares his parent’s old car, which is a 2008 Buick Enclave with his younger sister. However, they’re not allowed to be out late. “I’m very excited to finally drive around without having an adult next to me”, said Jeremy. He said he was a little nervous for his test, but was still pretty confident at the same time. He had always driven around in his father’s truck when he was younger. “I was so scared every time I saw my driving instructor taking notes. However, I passed and I’m very happy.”

Isabella Triana, who is a freshman at our school got her permit February 8th, 2018. She’s only fifteen, so some people might believe she is too young to be driving around. When she passed, she was very happy and celebrated with her family. Since she only has her permit, she’s not allowed to be out later than 10 pm. “I go to my best friend’s house every weekend now”, said Isabella.

Driving can be really scary for most people. It’s a whole different perspective when you’re driving. As long as you are concentrated, driving can be really fun. “The world is a lot smaller when you’re driving”, said Jeremy.
