The death of net neutrality

The death of net neutrality

Net neutrality is the principle that internet service providers should enable access to all content and applications regardless of the source, and without favoring or blocking particular products or websites.

Ajit Pai is the chairman of the FCC (Federal communications commission) appointed by Donald Trump. He is Indian American and he was born on January 10th 1973 (44) and he wants to repeal Net neutrality. He wants to repeal Net neutrality so that companies such as Verizon and Comcast get more money because they believe they don’t get enough to expand their networks.

How Net neutrality will impact you- The repeal of Net neutrality will result in companies such as Comcast, AT&T, and Verizon gain the ability to split internet networks into either slow or fast lanes and make websites that they deem not important much slower than others. Another impact of net neutrality being repealed is the extra cost and the requirement for subscriptions for certain websites.

How it will help the companies involved- Companies will benefit from the repeal as their income will increase but due to the rising cost most low income families will have very slow internet or won’t even have it.

What can be done even after net neutrality has been repealed- the only thing that can be done by us is get our congressman/ congresswoman to revive net neutrality in your state or support the legal battle that is being fought by internet websites and the states

In a recent interview with South Broward’s own Bruno Dede he tells us what he thinks about Net Neutrality
