University of Florida Taking Heat After Mistreatment of Black Graduates

The handling of graduating students from the University of Florida while they were celebrating their graduation on stage has sparked an outrage on social media. Multiple videos surfaced on Twitter of the UF graduation marshal being unnecessarily aggressive with black graduates. the school president, Kent Fuchs, tweeted an apology on Sunday morning.

“During one of this weekend’s commencement ceremonies, we were inappropriately aggressive in rushing students across the stage. I personally apologize, and am reaching out to the students involved,” said Fuchs.
The school has admitted that they are reaching out to the students involved and issuing formal apologies for their inappropriate behavior.
