Tomorrow, November 9th, at 10:00 a.m. SBHS JROTC will commemorate Veteran’s Day with a celebration in the big gym.
SBHS’s JROTC Battalion will escort local veterans into the big gym where they will be treated to a traditional eggs, bacon and hash brown breakfast.
Next, the festivities will start with the color guard presenting the colors commanded by C/Command Sergeant Major Alexander Villalobos followed by the pledge of Allegiance and then C/CPT Claire Clemonshe will sing the National Anthem.
More than forty school and community members are expected to attend.
“We told the cadets if they have any family members they are welcome to the the ceremony. We also reached out to clubs in SBHS,” said SBHS student Anthony Clase.
NHS, SGA and MTL clubs are expected to attend. JROTC also invited the all the SBHS AP’s, administration and any veterans on campus.
This events is to commemorate, remember and thank our veterans for their service. The event also features guest speakers, a laying of the wreath ceremony for each military branch: Air Force, Army, Marines, Navy and Coast Guard. There will also be slide show presentation.
Next, taps will be play by a marching band member, Brandon Lopez.
Let this be seen as a sign in remembrance of all the men and women who have selflessly fought to protect our nation.
