Andy Madtes is a SBHS parent of Gianna Madtes. He is a Union Representative Political Director for the Teamsters. Madtes has heard about the cell phone Law for students . Madtes agrees that students should be putting their phones away during school hours.
“It doesn’t help students with their school work,” said Madtes.
Madtes says that students can’t multitask with being on their phone and listening to the teacher at the same time especially if the topic is important. Madtes thinks it’s a great law because it will help with students grades and work. Madtes thinks his child wouldn’t support the law because they are on their phone 24/7.
“They should leave it to the school district and parents to decide if students should be on their phone in class,” said Madtes.
“Children need to cut down their screen time anyway, they get all the time at home to use it,” said Madtes
