Although this year 2023 – 2024 football may not have been the best, it was the best seen in a while.
In the district game the Bulldogs played against Miramar High School and it was one of the games that didn’t go so well, with a score ending in a 53-18 loss. Overall the team ended the season with a 8-3 record.
“The best team we played against was Miramar High,” said defensive back and wide receiver Aaron Benoit.
The season was not bad but for some players like Benoit, it was a good season.
“I switched schools which gave me the opportunity to get better at football and to contribute to winning more games,” said Benoit.
Last year their record was 5-5.
“Last year was a lot of chaos, especially with the football team, so I’m super proud of the kids that came back this season, fought off the negative, and how far they went into the season,” said linebacker coach Ismael Sierra.
One of their best games was at the beginning of the season against Piper High School, where they beat the Bengals 33-12.
“This was one of the games that went very well for me,” said Benoit. “I scored a touchdown and an interception.”
Coach Sierra agreed.
“The players were excellent in this game, they played well,” he said.
Another game where the Bulldogs played exceptionally well was the October 13th game against their biggest rival, McArthur. Last season they lost against them, but this year the Bulldogs smashed the knights 53-14.
