Lucia Cantillano is a 16-year-old junior at South Broward High School who is an exuberant, enthusiastic girl who has a talent for wrestling, and loves spaghetti. She grew up in Hollywood, Florida in a Nicaraguan household her entire life and didn’t move around a lot.
“I grew up in Hollywood, Florida and every time I go visit my family in Nicaragua or go on vacation it is one of the best things to be able to see something that isn't Florida," said Cantillano.
She also has a passion for wrestling, and has participated in wrestling since her freshman year and has learned more than just the ability to throw people to the ground.
“Wrestling taught me that if you get put down, it doesn’t matter as long as you get up,” said Cantillano.
Lucia loves South Broward, the people, the teachers, and especially the events. She loved Spirit Week, like Adam Sandler or Anything but a backpack day. This year her goals are to have a good GPA, and a fun junior year before she heads off to be a senior.
