Briana Calero, a 15-year-old sophomore at South Broward High School has adored drawing and art ever since she was a preschooler. Her fascination with art is a big part of who she is today.
“I feel like I can express my thoughts very clearly,” says Calero.
Her biggest inspiration is her friends, as they show such bravery and resilience and are always there for her. Briana tells me that she strives to be as amazing as they have been to her.
Calero plans to pursue her art skills into a career and become a freelance artist when she is older as it was the only thing she found joy in doing during her middle school years. If not an artist, Briana hopes to become a psychiatrist because she likes talking to people about their feelings.
Other than being an outstanding artist, Briana is also interested in sports as she did competitive swimming for two years straight. She has an interest in a variety of sports such as track, swimming, and soccer.
One thing most people don’t know about Calero is that she collects plushies for fun. She has a collection of many famous series, such as Beanie Boos and is currently working on a Build-A-Bear collection. Briana’s bedroom is a city of stuffed animals with them lining up everywhere from her closet shelves to the top of her desktop setup.
