Ms. Williams is a reading teacher; she grew up in Miami, FL, all her life, but her family is from the Bahamas. She didn’t leave until college; she moved to Saudi Arabia and taught over seas, then started teaching in the U.S. When she first started it out, the thought of student problems was overwhelming.
During this time period, she two years ago lost her grandma, uncle, and aunt within a 3-month period of time coming to work. She was devastated, but thanks to her students and coworkers they helped channel her emotions.
Fun fact: she has been teaching for over 10 years, including over seas, but has been teaching 5 years in the U.S. On the weekends, she spends time with her nephew’s ages, ranging from 2 to 13. One goal she has set for herself is to maintain balance. Her first teaching experience was overseas.
Another fun fact is that she used to bake in college and has traveled to 25 countries.
