Sofia Spina is a 18-year old student at South Broward. Spina has a Argentinian background but was born in Miami, FL. Spina’s love language is quality time, and she spends it with all of her friends.
“I’m a social butterfly,” said Spina.
She also has a hidden talent that she doesn’t share with many: aerial silks. Aerial Silks is commonly seen in Cirque du Soleil, where talented and trained acrobats climb long silks and perform physical feats most can’t.
“I have been doing this since I was three, this is my comfort,” said Spina.
Her training consists of stretching, conditioning, and choreography. All of this takes a toll on her physically.
“It’s always scary doing this, but when I count to three, I let go and it just clicks,” said Spina.
Spina is more than just her sport, she also loves to help out her teachers, peers, friends, and more. She finds herself consistently checking up on people.
“Treat people how you would want to be treated,” said Spina.
