Alina Basavro, a 10th grade student at South Broward High School is invested in sports. In Ukraine, she played football for seven years, volleyball for four years, and basketball for four years.  When she was little, she and her friend watched the boys in the yard playing football and they wanted to try. They asked to play with them and so for 4 years in a row they played football for the whole summer. Then, the coach noticed them and took them to his team.  They often went to competitions and took prizes.

Half a year later, Basavro's team, the Panthers, became the champions of Ukraine in 2018.  She was a left midfielder.  In 2020, she scored 3 goals in the Ukrainian championship, and brought victory to her team. She dreams of becoming a professional football player.

Her favorite song is "Not your war".  She believes that Instagram is the best communication app for teenagers.  She recently moved to the US and loves it here, but she loves and misses her country very much.  She hopes only for the victory of Ukraine.
