Lucia Cantillano is a 17-year-old senior at South Broward High School who is a high-spirited and keen strategist when it comes to wrestling, which is something she has done since her freshman year.
‘’I have learned more than just the ability to throw people to the ground in wrestling. It has taught me that it does not matter about how you get put down but that it is about how one gets back up,” said Cantillano.
She grew up in Hollywood, Florida in a Nicaraguan household her entire life and did not move around a lot. Every time she goes on vacation outside of Florida, she enjoys it.
‘’Going on vacation outside of Florida is one of the best feelings to be able to see something that I am not able to in Florida, sort of like an escape from reality,” said Cantillano.
Cantillano has always loved South Broward, the people, the teachers, and especially the events. As a senior, Cantillano wants to enjoy all the fun activities as much as she can during her last year at South Broward High before heading off to college.
