Melissa Mathura is an 18-year-old senior at South Broward High School. She was introduced to the class by her guidance counselor because of her love for writing. She is inspired by her enjoyment of storytelling and looks forward to writing stories for the newspaper.

"I'm a person who loves to express myself through my writing in a way to create understanding. I think writing is a good way to express the soul, clear one's mind and to express one's feelings; in a way they can't with their voice," said Mathura.

Her hobbies are collecting key chains and cute figurines. In her spare time she watches YouTube and works after school.

" I plan to attend FIU for college and pursue a degree in psychology." She replied when asked what she plans to do after she finishes high school.

Mathura plans to get better at writing during the time in this class.
