Alexandra Realmuto is a 17-year-old senior at South Broward High School. She is entering her fourth and final year as a staff member of the school newspaper, "The Bulldog Bark" and hopes to propel it to new heights this year.

Realmuto has a passion for photography and writing that has piqued her interest in journalism. She also excels other subjects in school and has taken many college level courses during her time at South Broward. In the classroom, Alexandra's greatest strength is her attention to detail whereas her weakness is overthinking.

“I try my hardest to make my assignments look presentable, I think that it really shows off your hard work,” says Realmuto.

After graduating high school, Realmuto pictures herself majoring in education at the University of Central Florida. Before college, she'd like to spend time with her friends, relax at the beach, and enjoy the waning moments of high school.

“I didn’t realize it until recently that I really wanted to be a teacher, but I’m not sure yet if it’s for little kids or biology,” says Realmuto.

Realmuto's favorite thing to do is travel. If she could travel anywhere in the world it'd be France, Italy, and Spain. In the future she hopes are to be successful and live a fulfilling life.

Her role model is Ellen Pompeo, the star actress of the show "Grey's Anatomy", who worked hard to become the well-paid actor on the famed series. Pompeo's work ethic and determination led her to become successful and serves as an inspiration to Realmuto.

Since her freshman year, Realmuto has been extremely involved in numerous activities and clubs at South Broward including Math Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Model UN, and Journalism Club. This final year of high school, she plans on excelling in her leadership positions  in those clubs.

“It’s a little heartwarming seeing how clubs like Model UN and Journalism have grown since I was a freshman and they were just starting out,” said Realmuto. "It really attests to the students' passion for their hobbies and talents."
